Just a detail of part of a stack of abandoned wooden pallets along Highway 122 in rural Saitama. While the pallets have been carefully stacked and secured with wire, they've been sitting out in the elements so long that they're no longer useful for anything other than firewood.

hey mike, its good to be back mate. im more or less recovered ;) I really like this, good example of how isolating a feature can produce an interesting graphic. It has an aged vintage look this one.

@Duncan Galbraith: Thanks. I always feel sort of bogus when I put up something like this. The aged look came thanks to Mother Nature weathering the wood over many years, and from retinting the photo with a cyanotype-soda ash gradient.
I liked the tone, great job.

@Reza: Thank you.
Love the tones and texture with the wire.

@Jen: Thanks. I snapped the picture out the passenger window at a red light, hoping that I would be able to do something with it when I got home. I tried cropping it in various ways, none of which worked, until I got it down to making the wire the center point.
