Wood and Water

A roadside pine against a backdrop of a Tokyo canal. If you could raise your eyes from this scene and look all about you, you would find yourself on a manmade island in Tokyo Bay. All around you would be hundreds upon hundreds of trucks. Among them would be dump trucks dashing about to work on construction projects, tractor-trailers hauling intermodal containers in and out of the various yards on the island, and countless garbage trucks bringing their refuse to the massive trash facility across the road right behind you.

In Tokyo, you get your glimpses of nature when and where you can.

I find it hard to believe myself, but the "rusty sign" color gradient played a major role processing this photo.
