Yes, we have women who dress like skanks in Japan too. As I get older, more and more my reaction is, "Go home and put some clothes on!"

@Jen: Absolutely, wouldn't want the poor thing to catch cold. Actually, we've been witnessing a deterioration of modesty in Japan that seems to be accelerating. When I first came here, there was genuine modesty and false modesty. Now there is false modesty and brazenness. I remarked to a friend at the end of last summer, "I've seen more total inches of exposed cleavage (in Japan) in the last six months than I've seen in the previous 20 years combined." Not that I'm complaining or anything....

Funny: my reaction is "Go home and get some taste!" At least it's better than the teenage hooker look currently infecting Tokyo.

@Dimitrios: I agree. I just wish that "fashion" bore some correlation to "taste" and "style". She only needed a tiara and a lasso to be Wonder Woman.
