One of the many lunch wagons that appear in the Tokyo container ports each day to sell box lunches to the truck drivers who are stuck in long lines waiting their turn to enter the container yards. This fellow has beef curry for 500 yen, and something else for 600.
In years past, there used to be ramen vendors who set up tables, but these days those have pretty much disappeared. Part of me was sad to see such a traditional sight disappear, but since all their customers were driving tractor-trailers and sitting there while they eat, smoke, and shoot the breeze, it didn't take very many of them parking nearby to cause massive traffic problems.

There was this neat little izakaya by my house in Fukushima. It's theme was immediate post-1945, when American media began seeping in, yet the media took on a Japanese flavor. They have tons of time-piece posters for movies and musicals around the place, and also shots of what life was like back then.
This shot looks like it should be on a wall in that izakaya. (Although the prices are obviously at today's rates...)
