Strafing Run

Posted by Mike Cash (Kiryu, Japan) on 23 April 2007 in Animal & Insect.

Actually, this bird is just taking off from a small river after having spent a few minutes diving and spearing fish.

I got lots of different impressions from this image:

1. Fighter plane coming in low to strafe the ducks.

2. Plane coming in for a landing on the USS Mallard. (The angles resemble carrier landings).

3. A laughing face. (The ducks are the eyes. The large bird and his reflection form the lips.)
