The Gospel of John

On this old abandoned store in Gunma Prefecture's Sakai-machi we observe the Coca-Cola logo, known and recognized throughout the world.

Next to it, in simple white text on a black background, is one of the signs one can spot here and there with either Bible verses or some Christian aphorism or exhortation.

This particular one, roughly translated, says "There is but one God."

The "John" referred to in the title is John Pemberton, the creator of Coca-Cola.
