The Answer (Part II)Posted by Mike Cash (Kiryu, Japan) on 24 June 2007 in Transportation and Portfolio. The front right corner chassis lock was still in the locked position, so when the crane lifted the container, the front right of the truck got lifted into the air as well. Naturally, hanging off balance the truck swung to the right. When the crane lowered it back to the ground, the tractor's right rear wheel came to rest atop the crane's very sturdy fender. The resulting high corner is what caused the container to crash over into the other containers already stacked up; it had no flat surface to land on.
