Taters

This being the summertime, festival season is upon us in a big way in Japan. Personally, I rarely ever go to them, but this year I put in an appearance for a couple of hours at the one here in my town.

Nevermind traditional costumes, music, and dancing.....the reason I go is to hunt down one of the vendors hawking humongous Hokkaido baked potatoes slathered with enough butter to choke a horse. The years I don't go, I have the wife-n-kiddies bring me one back. The only thing that stops me from having two is fear of an instant heart attack.

(And if anyone wonders why I haven't posted in a couple of weeks, it's largely because I haven't taken a picture worth showing anybody for a couple of weeks....even this one is iffy).
