An antique, yet functional, ribbon loom. The thread is on a spool inside the shuttle and comes out through a spring-arm which trips itself to change direction on each pass. This type of loom has two heads, but only one was set up. Also in the museum were a half dozen identical antique ribbon looms that had been converted to run via an electric motor. This display model retained the original hand-crank mechanism.
