Inferiority Complex

Container ship MOL Pace shares dock space with an intercoastal friend whose full beam doesn't even reach the centerline of MOL Pace, and from whose bridge one would struggle to see the Pace's main deck.

The smaller ship is the Kamiwaka (Imoto Line), a 239 TEU vessel of 1801 tons displacement. Diesel powered, her 2800 horsepower main engine gives the 94.5m long Kamiwaka a top speed of 14.5 knots. She has a beam of 14 meters and was delivered in March 2005.

Shot from the K-Line yard at Ooi Wharf in Tokyo, these two ships are tied up next door at the Mitsui O.S.K. yard.
