This isn't my kid and I didn't take the picture. It is the child of a lady at a place I deliver to quite frequently. She showed me a print of this photo about the size of a large postage stamp and I was very taken by it. I told her I wanted to have a go at doing post-processing on it and printing it larger for her, so she gave me a CD-R with the photo on it.
The child was 1 1/2 years old when the photo was taken in 2003. I was taken with wondering what must be going through his mind staring out across that broad expanse of grass. Must have been something akin to what Christopher Columbus felt staring out across the Atlantic and wondering what was on the other side.
