I recently got an urge to go try taking pictures inside a cave up in the mountains not too far from my home. In one of the little side crannies in the developed portion of the cave is a small Buddhist statue, standing guard over a metal offering box.
I had been there before on days where there was considerable traffic through the cave, which is located within the confines of a flower park. But this was the first time I had gone when there was almost no one. The flowers haven't really started to bloom up there yet, and it was lunch time on a weekday. I stayed inside the cave for over an hour and the only other visitors were one elderly couple.
Due to the quietness, there were several bats flying about. It was the first time I knew the cave even had any. One greeted me by flying out at me the second I walked into the entrance door.
