Here Come The JudgePosted by Mike Cash (Kiryu, Japan) on 18 June 2008 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio. The Buddhist entity who sits in judgment of peoples wrongdoings and decides which hell they get sent to. This was a challenging shot because the statue is inside a dark building and can only be seen by climbing up on a small veranda and peering in through wooden lattice doors like a rose trellis. It was so dark inside that it was damned near impossible to see him. Adding to the problem was dirty reflective glass in the door and the absolute impossibility of using a tripod. I put the camera on a monopod, pressed the lens up to an opening in the lattice work, counted on the rubber lens hood pressed as flush as possible to the door to kill reflections on the glass, and took my chances. This is at f4 and probably about 1/2 second. 1973 Pentax ESII
