Sixty-Four Years is a Long Time

Hiroji Wada passed away March 5, 1941 at the age of 45. His wife Yasu passed away August 11, 2005 at the age of 102.

From 38 until 102 is a hell of a long time to be a widow.

What I found most interesting about this stone, though, is that it has already been relocated to the area of the cemetery where the remains from abandoned tombs (and their associated stones) are moved. I don't know how long the stone has been there, but the lady has only been gone three years as I write this. Perhaps she and Hiroji got reincorporated into a new location and there was no room for the old stone. Perhaps she just outlived all her relatives. Or maybe they just resold her little plot of "eternal" resting place. Who knows?
