@MM: I spend my workdays largely in Tokyo/Yokohama surrounded by too damned many people, so on my days off I like to go into the mountains that surround my town and hunt up out-of-the-way temples. Not the sort that tourists frequent....the sort that people in the neighborhood hardly even visit.

As I tell my wife regarding why I like to go to the cemeteries, it is because everybody there is no nice and quiet.

We humans all end up spending far more time in a cemetery than we do out of one, and I'm just getting an early start.
