Tokyo Bay After Dark V

Tokyo's landmark Rainbow Bridge with its lighting scheme by the world famous Roy G. Biv, as viewed from Shibaura Wharf.

In case you're wondering what the Japanese name for "Rainbow Bridge" is, it is レーンボーブリッジ(reenboo burijji). I delight in confounding my coworkers by insisting on calling it 虹大橋(niji oohashi), which is "Rainbow Bridge" and which nobody gets without having it pointed out to them.

No, I don't think it's particularly clever. I just have an aversion to "gairaigo" (vocabulary items borrowed from foreign languages) since Japanese love to borrow English words and then use them with altered meanings, making them oftentimes very false friends to foreigners such as myself, who think we know what was meant. It's just my small and ineffectual way of protesting.
