善雄寺 I

Posted by Mike Cash (Kiryu, Japan) on 9 October 2010 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio.

One of many statues and stones making up the 無縁 (abandoned or family died out) relocated tombs section of Zenyuuji, a Buddhist temple in rural Gunma Prefecture. According to what I could find online, the stones in this area were relocated to open up space in the cemetery about 60 years ago.
