I went on the Antarctic vessel in Nagoya-ko (can't remember the name). It was famous for the expedition where the dogs got left behind for an entire winter and 2 survived... you know that story Mike?

@Daroru: I've never heard that story. I'd love to visit the ship if I ever get down that way again sometime. Sounds like the dogs must have feasted on penguins.
If you're ever up in Tokyo be sure to visit the Maritime Museum; it's pretty interesting. It's also located convenient to some other interesting sites and museums. Also of interest is the Hikawa-Maru in Yamashita Park in Yokohama. It's one of the old passenger liners from way back. I drive near it all the time but can never find the time to park the truck and photograph the thing. The inside has been converted to a museum and it is very interesting.
