I know nothing about Jack Benny and his jazz, but I do know (from looking at your pictures) that you seem very happy with the colours produced by your Pentax!

@Curly: Jack Benny was a comedian primarily known for his work in the medium of radio, although he also did television, stage, movies, and got his start in Vaudeville.
He was born on Valentine's Day, 1894 and passed from this vale of tears December 26, 1974 at the age of 39, sorely lamented.

Not familiar with Jack Benny's jazz either, but I remember the line...
I love how your site shows parts of Japanese life that tourists don't see and residents overlook. Just wanted to say that at least one person gets your Jack Benny reference - and a 26 year old at that! -_^

@Karla: You have hit upon exactly what I try to shoot. Since I can't do photography beautifully or well, as a general thing, I try to do the mundane interestingly. The folks who like it best tend to be people who have lived here before and like the photos of things which didn't strike them as particularly interesting or photo-worthy while they were here but which strike a spark of nostalgia when it is no longer available to them.
When I look at what Jack Benny managed to accomplish in his short life of a mere 39 years I feel a sense of shame at having accomplished nothing of note in my own 44 years.

You are as usual, too modest. As for Jack Benny, saw him on a TV special a while ago, and was once again reminded of how good he was. Talking about comedians timing has become a cliche, but that guy really had it.
