Toukou-Maru & Sankouyoku (Tokyo)

Posted by
Mike Cash (Kiryu, Japan) on 17 January 2011 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio.

Fisheries Inspection ship Toukou-Maru taking on oil from Sankouyoku at Tokyo's Aomi Wharf area. Notice the red flag flying. That is the alphabet flag "B" and is the internationally recognized signal for "conducting dangerous operations", warning other ships in the area to stay clear and exercise caution around her. Commonly flown during fuel and/or ammunition transfer operations.
